About Us Richard M. Levine, CFA rlevine@streetsmartnyc.com In 2003, Mr. Levine led a team from StreetSmart and Deutsche Bank in developing a comprehensive acquisition financing model that is currently being used by over 500 relationship managers in Deutsche Bank’s Global Banking Division. In addition to his work with Deutsche Bank, Mr. Levine has developed and conducted courses for many international commercial and investment banks including Barclays Capital, Bayerische Hypo- und Vereinsbank, Commerzbank, Credit Lyonnais, Deutsche Bank, the Royal Bank of Scotland and Wachovia Bank. Prior to founding StreetSmart, Mr. Levine spent several years managing securitization and consulting engagements in Ernst & Young’s Structured Finance group. His primary responsibilities were to provide advisory and analytical services to investors, issuers and underwriters of real estate and asset-backed securities. Mr. Levine created and implemented cash flow models to value complex derivative securities for both portfolio and risk management purposes. In addition, he was a featured speaker in industry seminars on Mezzanine Financing and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) and co-authored a chapter published in the Trends in Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities handbook. Mr. Levine previously worked for four years on Wall Street at PaineWebber and Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he developed arbitrage transactions involving mortgage derivatives. He originated fixed income relative value strategies used by the mortgage-trading desk for risk management and by institutional clients to improve portfolio performance. Mr. Levine initially developed his expertise in financial engineering and securitization at KPMG Peat Marwick by developing mathematical models to evaluate structured securities. Mr. Levine recently served as an Adjunct Professor at New York University’s Stern School of Business, where he taught courses in Mortgage-Backed Securities, Corporate Finance and Investment Valuation. He received an M.B.A. with a concentration in Finance from NYU’s Stern School and earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science. Mr. Levine is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts (NYSSA). Jason Drill Prior to joining StreetSmart, Jason served as an Equity Research Associate at Morgan Stanley in New York. He was responsible for developing analytical spreadsheet models to value equity securities in the airline and healthcare sectors. Before joining Morgans Equity Research team, Jason worked in the firms Debt Capital Markets group. His responsibilities included developing and optimizing financing levels for commercial paper issuance and medium-term note programs. Jason received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business from New York University’s Stern School of Business. Jason volunteers regularly at City Harvest, an organization that rescues unused, healthy food for delivery to agencies that feed New York City’s hungry and also at Street Project, an organization that provides volunteer help to local community services in need. Leonardo Moreno Leonardo joins StreetSmart after enjoying an extensive Capital Markets career on Wall Street. Most recently, he served as Vice President – Treasury & Capital Markets Division (Proprietary Investment) for Banco Santander Centro Hispano in Caracas, Venezuela. At Santander, Leonardo headed Sales & Training for Fixed Income, Currency and Derivative Products. He was responsible for handling more than USD 900 million in portfolio assets and yearly trading volume of over USD 16 billion. Prior to joining Santander, Leonardo served as Vice President in the Capital Markets group at Andre & Cie – Socimer Finance Group. There, he was responsible for managing underwriting and trading activities on emerging markets debt, private placements, loans and structured products, including ABS, tax products and FX risk mitigation. His duties included credit analysis, due diligence, structuring and pricing. Leonardo also worked as an Associate at Merrill Lynch in New York, where he was part of the International UHNW Private Banking Team. His duties at Merrill included generating and analyzing investment opportunities in private equity, due diligence and developing fundamental research reports on companies in various sectors. Leonardo began his finance career at Citibank in Caracas, where he was a Manager in the Local Corporate Group. Leonardo holds a MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business, where he received a World Bank Student Fellowship and was a Teaching Fellow in Investment Banking. He also received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Catolica Andres Bello U.C.A.B in Caracas. Leonardo is a Certified Public Accountant. Leonardo is fluent in Spanish, English and Portuguese and enjoys hiking, fishing and scuba diving. Alex Matina Alex is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of StreetSmarts financial training and valuation models. Alex has extensive experience in public and private equity markets as well as in debt capital markets in both issuance and portfolio management roles. Previously, Alex was as an investment banking analyst at Salomon Smith Barney. At Salomon, he worked in the Financial Entrepreneurs Group, an investment banking division specializing in providing high yield and equity financing and mergers and acquisitions advice to private equity firms. At Salomon Alex conducted LBO modeling training for recently hired investment banking associates. Alex holds a MBA from Columbia Business School and has a B.S. in Business Administration from Fordham University, where he graduated summa cum laude. RAVI SHANKARPrior to joining StreetSmart, Ravi spent three years in Morgan Stanley’s Equity Research Department. At Morgan, Ravi conducted market and company research relating to the Medical Devices industry. Ravi was responsible for developing detailed spreadsheet models to project future financial performance for over 15 companies. His projections were then used to value companies within the industry; these results were published in several extensive reports distributed to Morgan’s investor base. During his time at the firm, Ravi wrote over 100 reports and his group was ranked #1 by Institutional Investor magazine for best coverage of the medical devices industry. Ravi previously worked at Merrill Lynch in the Information Technology department, where he developed complex web-based tools used to optimize sales productivity and efficiency for both the Equity and Fixed Income Departments. Specifically, Ravi prototyped and developed a portal used by Merrill’s sales force to improve client relationship management. Ravi received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University’s School of Engineering and Applied Science.
